Tree-Cycling

Rockland Residents can leave their live Christmas Trees curbside this holiday season. Trees will be brought to RCSWMA's West Nyack Yard Waste Facility to be chipped and turned into multipurpose mulch.

Guidelines

Christmas trees are acceptable (and welcome) as long as they are completely cleaned off prior to recycling.  Trees will not be accepted or cleaned off if they come in contaminated.

  • No lights
  • No garland
  • No ornaments
  • No tree stands
  • No tinsel
  • No tree bags
  • No wreaths or garland due to the wire and/or rope.

Inflatable decorations are typically made out of Nylon, which is not recyclable in your curbside bin. But fabrics can be recycled through textile recycling organizations like clothing drop boxes. Keep in mind that many inflatable decorations have electronic parts. These parts can be removed and recycled at our HHW facility in Pomona - 35 Firemen’s Memorial Drive, Pomona, NY 10970.
